Frequently Asked Questions

What are the requirements for F1 student visas?

  • You must be attending an academic institution or a language-training program;

  • You must be enrolled as a full-time student;

  • The school must be approved by the USICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) to accept foreign students;

  • You must show sufficient financial support;

  • You must prove that you do not intend to abandon your foreign residency.

Can I travel outside the US?

  • Yes. You may return to the U.S. after an absence of no more than five months. You must have a new F1 visa if your original one has expired. The Anthem Prep director must sign your I-20 before leaving the U.S. for any travel.

Can I transfer to a different school?

  • Yes. You must notify the director of your intent to withdraw thirty (30) days prior to your transfer. The school will transfer your Sevis record and arrange to transfer your transcripts once all tuition and fees are paid. You must obtain a new I-20 from your new school, and give the completed I-20 to your new DSO within 15 days of the transfer date. Additionally, all international students are required to commit to a minimum of two years at Anthem Prep.

Can I work in the U.S.?

  • F-1 visas are intended to enable foreign students to study in the U.S., hence, there are strict work restrictions. Students with F-1 visas are generally allowed to work once they’re in college, on the campus of the college where they study, for up to 20 hours a week. There are also two training programs that F-1 students can get permission to work under. F1 students should always seek advice from the university dso (or foreign student advisor) before seeking employment in the United States.

How long can I stay in the U.S. with a F1 visa?

  • When you enter the U.S., an immigration officer at the port of entry will issue you an I-94 card that indicates your non-immigrant status (F1) and your authorized stay. It is typically “duration of status” or “d/s” on a student’s I-94 card, meaning that you may remain in the U.S. as long as you are enrolled in the school to complete your academic program. After the program ends, you will have 60 days to depart the U.S.

Dress Code
Why we require one.

Anthem Prep has a mandatory dress code for all students. Students are expected to be neat, clean, and dressed in uniform at all times unless permitted by the administration to be out of uniform. There are many positive reasons for a dress code, including:

  • A dress code encourages students to express their individuality through personality and academic achievements, not outward appearances.

  • A dress code puts the focus on academics, not fashion, because students project a neat, serious, businesslike image.

  • Schools with dress codes have fewer discipline problems because students are less distracted.

  • Dress codes can be less expensive.

  • Dress codes eliminate the visible differences between needy and wealthy children.

  • Dress codes eliminate the pressure to wear brand-name clothing, immodest styles, etc.

  • Dress codes create a sense of school pride and belonging.

General Rules

  • White dress shirts must be tucked in for boys, girls shirts can remain untucked.

  • Clothes must be the appropriate size, with the waist of the garment worn at the student’s waist.

  • Clothing that is too tight or too loose is not appropriate for school.

  • Only school-approved jackets, hoodies, and sweaters are allowed in the classroom.

  • Hoods are not allowed to be worn in the classrooms or hallways.

  • School administrators will determine if clothing is appropriate for school and complies with the uniform guidelines.

  • Students violating the dress code will receive a warning the first time. Students who regularly violate the dress code will be referred to the administration.

Our dress code is specific and based on grade and gender. Select the appropriate grade level or additional uniform policy links below for detailed information.

All awards offered are based on the demonstrated financial need of the family. However, no student should be deterred from applying to Anthem Preparatory School due to their family not being able to afford the full tuition. All application materials are held in the strictest confidence to protect the privacy of our families.

Philosophy & Objective

Financial aid at Anthem Prep helps to provide deserving students the opportunity of a high-quality education, which might otherwise be unobtainable. It provides the school with a well-qualified student body that reflects a broad social and economic mix. Financial aid decisions are made independently from admissions decisions and in no way affect a candidate’s chances for admission.

Families must complete the FACTS application below, submit the required documentation, and pay a one-time fee to apply for financial aid. You will then be contacted with a determination regarding your award.
